A New Year, A Bunch of Announcements

Greetings all! I hope you and yours enjoyed the holidays. Now that they are over, I have a few exciting announcements I would like to share.

Firstly: SECOND DEATH IS BEING PUBLISHED!!! AAAAAAHHHH! As in not by me but an actual publisher, Robyn Lane Books!!

I. Just. Can’t. Even.

Here’s some important dates in regards to the official release of Second Death:

Cover Reveal Day is February 2nd. I’ve seen it — it’s awesome.

Blog/Review Tours begin February 16th.

Release date is February 17th.

April 11th I will be at the North Texas Book Festival in Denton! Click the link for details and come see me!

Secondly: For those of you who’ve read SD and been waiting… there WILL BE A SEQUEL. No release date yet, but, yeah, it’s happening.

Thirdly: Anyone who subscribes to my blog will get access to primo content from the Second Death universe — stories and such you won’t get anywhere else!

And finally, (though personally not as exciting,) I will be blogging more. It’s my un-official resolution. I’ve already got a few post stored up, so hopefully I can keep up with it. I’ll be reviewing a couple of books, highlighting a few authors I’ve discovered and loved, and of course, talking about my girls. (I’m a stay at home mom, what do you expect?)

I would greatly appreciate it if you would share this post, as well as other Second Death news, on any social media you choose. The more the better!

So mark your calendars and be sure to subscribe so you can keep up with all the exciting things happening in the coming months!

Keep writing, keep reading!

60 Days to be a Writer: Day 2

I want to start off by saying how much I appreciate the comments, likes, follows, and general outpouring of support I received from you all yesterday. I have a feeling I’m going to need to go back and read them from time to time.

I’ve been cleared to writer for the local Examiner website, so that’s nice. I’m going to try to cover local authors, indie book stores, and local events related to writing. I also found out that writing a guide or a topic section for About.com is not going to be as easy as I thought. Or at least getting contracted to write one.

Also, has anyone heard of Essay Shark? I can’t decide if its shady or not. I mean, how can you write academic papers for people and that be okay? Let me know if you have any experience with this.

It was great being home with Monkey today, although trying to keep her focused/entertained without letting her watch Sponge Bob all day was quite an effort. It will take us a bit to get back into our old routine. We’re going to be playing “Honey the Hero” in a minute. The cuteness will be epic; I may have to post it. After that, it’s time to finish these edits.

Here’s to us and the promise of a new day doing what we love!

60 Days to Be a Writer: Day 1

Welcome to my journey. Starting today, there’s going to be some changes around here. Will I still talk about my book, and post reviews, sure. But I’m also going to let you into one of the greatest and scariest two months of my life. I’m going to try to make it as a writer. As in this morning, I informed my job I’m taking a two month leave of absence. As in, I’m going to try to help support my family with freelance writing and book revenues alone.

I’m terrified. I also need your help.

Come and visit. Leave a comment, an opinion, or a topic request. Hell, just tell me to go back to my day job if you must. All I know, is that I need you, each and every one of you, in order to make this crazy idea work.

Talk to you soon.
